La Casa Halfway house is the first of its kind in Lancaster County.
This 23-bed, all male, bilingual facility serves individuals between the age 18 and older. La Casa offers both evidence based treatment as well as the recovery principles as defined by SAMHSA Therapeutic actions may be delivered in individual, family and group settings.
During individual counseling sessions, staff will help foster client insights into their addiction. Individual counseling can readily integrate the formal perspectives of therapy and are generally reserved for the more sensitive issues not appropriate for groups or family. Individual treatment plans, sensitive personal problems and initially best addressed with an individual therapist. Residents length of stay varies based upon need but is typically 30-90 days.
Treatment is offered in 3 phases, the first ORIENTATION, while in this track, the clients focus much of their attention towards the disease of addiction, self-image, attitudes and values. The second is REENTRY. Track 2 will have both a strong recreational and vocational component. Clients now begin to integrate with the community and look to obtain employment or volunteer work, and utilize other community supports. Clients begin to integrate recovery life skills during interaction with the public at large. The third stage is REUNIFICATON. This track will focus on discharge planning. This is inclusive or housing, employment, education, and both family and community supports.
