SACA provides services for HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C & sexually-transmitted infections.
SACA/Nuestra Clinica Education & Prevention Services (NCEPS) has been providing HIV/AIDS services for over 16 years to the Lancaster County Community. The HIV/AIDS battle has not been won. HIV/AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections continue. In this fight SACA has saved many lives and is a major partner with public health agencies.
NCEPS provides free confidential counseling, testing and community services. A Sexually Transmitted Infection (STIs) Treatment Clinic was added on March 11, 2010 and has been serving uninsured clients with Syphilis, Gonorrhea or Chlamydia. We are so motivated not only to treat those infected but also their partners. We have made a great emphasis in connecting with our clients to assure their confidence and are willing to go an extra mile to treat their partners.
Thanks to the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) we have a medical physician who is willing to see and treat our positive cases free and confidential. We are currently celebrating our Third Year Anniversary of our Treatment Clinic. For the past year we have tested 994 individuals for Chlamydia with a seven (7) percent of positivity rate and 925 individuals for Gonorrhea for a 1.2% of positivity rate as of February 2013. As we treat those infected with a Sexually Transmitted Infection we highly encourage our clients to bring in their partners for treatment to reduce the possibility of infection and/or re-infection.
Congratulation and thanks to the staff at Nuestra Clinica Education & Prevention Services: Nelsa Vasquez, Prevention Specialist/Educator; Carlos Torres, Office Manager and our Physician Dr. John Bart.
