Job Description

Conducts interior and exterior maintenance of two of the SACA Development Corporation facilities.

Primary Functions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Performs routine maintenance and repairs of the building.
  2. Provides grass cutting and snow removal.
  3. Transports and carries materials and equipment when required for the building.
  4. Participate in program coverage and emergencies as needed.
  5. Follow policies and procedures set up by SACA & SACA Development Corp., to ensure the safety of everyone around the work area.
  6. Reports any buildings concerns identified during the regular maintenance duties to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  7. Ensures all necessary maintenance/Grounds products are available to perform duties efficiently.
  8. Keeps inventory of the necessary maintenance/Grounds products and informs supervisor when low.
  9. Communicate with vendors as assigned and needed.
  10. Participate in staff meetings as required by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  11. Perform other tasks as required by supervisor.

Key Results Areas

  • Is able to perform 40 hours of work time per week.
  • Is able to remain standing for long period of time.
  • Ensure the interior and exterior of the Centro Lancaster facility are maintained in top condition.
  • Ensure snow removal and grass cutting are completed according to scheduled plan.
  • Transport equipment, materials and supplies to locations in the organization if needed.
  • Follows various tasks as required by management.
  • Maintains a Preventive maintenance program and monthly inspections of the building.

Education, Training or Certification: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

 

Experience:

One to two years related experience and/or training in maintenance/Grounds keep, general repairs, painting, patching, plumbing and minor electrical work.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, short notes and memos. Ability to write basic notes and memos. Ability to discuss job related information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide basic numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables and the need to deal with exceptions and changes in normal job related situations.

 

Certificates, licenses, registrations:

PA valid driver’s license and good driving record. PA child abuse, criminal and FBI clearances.

 

Other skills and abilities, including computers, tools, equipment, technical knowledge:

Lawn mowers, weed trimmers, snow blowers, Bobcat plows, drain snake, floor buffer, electrical tools and hand tools.

Other qualifications: Should be dependable, trustworthy, have good work ethics and be a team player. Bilingual in English / Spanish (preferred not required).

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud.
