PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
This role focuses on assisting learners in improving their English proficiency while also helping them while attending the workforce training programs. The tutor will work closely with students to enhance their reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills, ensuring they gain confidence in both academic and professional settings.
KEY RESULTS AREAS
- Effectively handle 1-3 students per tutoring session.
- Develop personalized tutoring lessons designed to meet student’s individual needs.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide individualized and group tutoring sessions tailored to students’ language proficiency, by Adapting teaching methods and instruction to meet students’ varying needs, abilities and interests.
- Assist students in enhancing English language skills necessary for their coursework, job applications, and workplace communication.
- Utilize interactive teaching methods to engage students and improve their comprehension and fluency.
- Collaborate with instructors to align tutoring sessions with workforce training curriculum.
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their learning goals.
- Establishes and enforces rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.
- Uses computers, audiovisual aids and other equipment and materials to supplement presentations.

Education, Training or Certification:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience in education or teaching experience.
Experience:
One to two years related experience and / or training.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract, theoretical concepts and problems.
Certificates, licenses, registrations:
None required.
Other skills and abilities, including computers, tools, equipment, technical knowledge:
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs; bilingual skills in Spanish / English required. Flexible schedule including one – two evening a week.
